How to crop a photo in 3 steps

Choose your photo
Open the image you want to frame. Switch to the Crop tool and inspect the original composition.
Set the crop area
Draw or move the crop, select an aspect ratio, or enter the position and dimensions. Use a square for an avatar or enable a circular crop when needed.
Apply and export
Apply the crop and inspect the preview. Choose a format that supports transparency for clear corners, then export and download.

Crop a photo to a square or circle

A square crop is useful for avatars and product grids. A circular crop keeps the circle and makes the corners transparent in compatible formats. Cropping removes pixels outside the selected area; resizing changes the dimensions of what remains. Combine the two when a destination needs both a particular composition and output size.

Know the limits

Circular output needs PNG, WebP, GIF or TIFF to keep transparent corners. JPG always uses the selected solid background.

Private image editing on your device

Your images are opened and processed in your browser, not uploaded to a server. The website downloads the code and assets it needs to run, and some tools download a processing model. Those requests do not contain the photos you open. Download your results before closing the page; working images are not kept between visits.

Can I enter an exact crop size?

Yes. Use the crop width, height and position fields to define the selection numerically instead of dragging.

Why does my circular JPG have solid corners?

JPG does not support transparency. Choose PNG or another transparency-capable format to retain clear corners.

Can I crop a batch differently?

Yes. Select a single image to apply an individual crop. Shared settings applied to several files should be inspected because subjects may occupy different positions.
